Wow, this hits so close to home for me. I was at a party last year wearing my retro “Coke…it’s the real thing” t-shirt when a guy in a Pepsi windbreaker started some good-natured jabbing with me. It was all in good fun…until a guy walks in wearing a 7-UP cap. I could just feel the rage building up inside me, and I could tell that Pepsi-guy was getting hot, too. Before we knew exactly what we were doing, Pepsi-guy and I grabbed that green-bottled geek and threw him outside. “Get some caffiene, ass-clown!” I yelled. Pepsi-guy followed that up with, “Yeah, and some caramel coloring!” We laughed, went back into the party and exchanged stories about beating the shit out of some RC Cola fans. Crap, that’s not even a cola IMHO.

The same very thing happened to me!! Yes, I am working on a novel called, “Why drugs do bad things to good people.” The wedding boutique, believe it or not, in a lot of places, is a front for drug deals. I know, I know….you’re not surprised.

Wow, I broke out in a cold sweat just reading this account. Why can’t women just rent bridal gowns like man do with tuxes? My experience when getting married was just as harrowing, but in a different way. I was no longer known as “the groom”…I became “the checkbook”.
